Is ash a good wood for a tele?

Ash is great for a Tele. Nice bright sound with sustain. The only drawback to ash will be the weight. Your looking at 9 to 10 pounds for the guitar as opposed to 7 to 8 with a Tele made of poplar (also a great wood for Tele's) I recommend checking out Warmoth site for a good description of woods and the tones they tend to produce.
