Whats wrong with my cat's eye?

My cat's left eye is a little red and she can't quite open it all the way. This started 2 days ago and looks like it isn't getting any better. I opened it up to see if maybe something was in there, but don't see anything out of the norm. It just seems to aculate alot of goop.. Anyone have an idea on what it could be???
