Why did I not make the tennis team?

I have NO idea why my friend and I didn't make the Junior Varsity tennis team at my highschool. Although we didn't have that great records in games, it is clear that our forms are solid and that we have experience playing. My record was a measly 4-6 and his was 5-5. But all the people I have lost to had either 1 or 2 losses only and I've beaten some people who only had 2 losses. My friend even beat an undefeated person who went to finish 9-1! And considering the short length of the match, (first one to win 2 games wins) I don't really think you can judge who makes the team by record. There were only 18 kids trying out and 14 made it. How were we one of the 4 who got cut? There's this 1 kid who made the team, although the last spot, but he SUCKS. His record was 1-9 and he has no form whatsoever. He doesn't even know how to hit a serve, he just raises his racket and pops it in. He doesn't know how to volley either and he still makes the team. CONTINUED
